As we celebrate the 50th anniversary and history of Concern America, the theme that comes to the forefront is “Celebrating the Past by Supporting the Future.” All year we will be looking back together over our incredible history, all while we continue forward to expand our programs to double our impact in the coming years.

In this newsletter, we highlight the insightful publication Time and Place as Grace: Concern America, The First Forty Years, 1972-2012. This 200+ page book was compiled and written by Concern’s second executive director, Marianne Loewe, who served in her role for more than 30 years. Published in 2015 and with a forward by actor and humanitarian Mike Farrell, Time and Place as Grace tells our story through our field programs, field volunteers, staff and board, and events, and is full of photos and memories of Concern’s history. You can purchase your own copy through our Marketplace and get up to speed on the first 40 years of Concern America!

You’ll notice we’re looking a little different…on our NEW WEBSITE

We are incredibly excited to unveil our brand-new website, which is now LIVE! After collecting historical and recent photos, stories, and quotes from the field, this website has been a year-long labor of love built by our tiny but mighty team here at Concern America. You’ll notice a few changes, including:

• Map of where we work – Our home office is based in Santa Ana, California, but our community of supporters makes possible our work across the world. See our global hearts community!
• Updated country pages – Learn more about the countries where Concern America works, as well as our history and impact over the years.
• Guiding principles – These are the guiding principles of our organization, the frames that express them, and the actions that strengthen them.
• 50th Anniversary Fundraising Goal – We have a vision of expanding care to expand and double our impact over the next 10 years. To do that, we have a goal to raise an additional $500,000 this year. Will you join us?
• New, user-friendly donation forms – Giving is secure and a breeze! You can now dedicate your donation, ask that we send an e-mail or card to those you’re honoring, or make changes to your monthly giving.
• Our Latest News + Resource Library – We’ll be adding more stories, videos, and educational materials here throughout the year.
